Aiea Public Library earns LEED® Gold

The new Aiea Public Library received LEED® Gold exceeding its initial goal of LEED® Silver.  The  $10.4 million, 17,200-square-foot facility includes daylighting, photovoltaic electricity generation, recycled, energy efficient HVAC equipment.  It also uses naturally renewable building materials and materials that emit low VOC which ensure a safe indoor environment for staff and users.

“LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. LEED certified buildings save money and resources and have a positive impact on the health of occupants, while promoting renewable, clean energy.”

This is CDS International’s sixth LEED Certified project to date.
